what happens to a car

i grew up with my parents disagreeing on a lot of things.
i hear them reason out with each other without anyone giving in.

just a few minutes ago, they had another one of those petty debates.
and because it wasn't resolved (which is not surprising), i was inspired to start blogging about such cases.

mommy says: a car whose engine stops while downhilling a slope on first gear, will stay put
daddy says: a car whose engine stops while downhilling a slope on first gear, will continue to run downhill unless breaks are used

i asked people and they are giving me different answers!

your dad is right! haven't you learned anything from science high physics? LOL jk.

gravity will pull the car down the slope. and if it continues to move, it will move in an accelerated speed!

unless something is done to counter gravity, then the car will continue to move downhill.

there's a reason why cars parked in slopes needed to be put on breaks and/or hand breaks. plus the tires have to turned either to the right or to the left just in case the car does move due to gravity!

i missed to put one important given fact on this argument tim. the car has to be on first gear. no wonder the comment about sci hi physics.

ok.....is easy...actually 1st gear does continue move infront acept u applied ur break because it a foward gear xcept is a reverse gear if not the car will continue go on!!!

i think from my little knowledge on cars.. having both works better. putting the hand break on and in first gear..which is just to lock it.. like when you're breaking in a traffic light, if someone hits u from behind and ur in first gear, the car wont move forward unless ur in neutral. :)
